Are you currently a Microsoft Advisor and trying to make sense of the recent email Microsoft sent to Advisor partners:
In an effort to increase transparency and awareness, we wanted to reiterate the strategic changes that we are making in the Advisor and CSP incentives.
Microsoft’s long-term strategy prioritizes through-partner sales motions and we remain committed to helping partners transform their business to capitalize on new opportunities. The changes being made are inline with this strategy and our move toward more modern offers such as the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program and Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA).
To ensure a smooth transition from Advisor to our strategic, through-partner modern offers such as CSP and MPSA, Microsoft is maintaining the “Sell” incentive (which rewards new business on this program) until the end of September 2016 and maintaining the “Manage“ incentive (which rewards existing business) which will be in market until June 30, 2017.
Unmanaged Partners, while not eligible for CSP incentives, can take advantage of the margin-based model of CSP and leverage the support and value-based solutions that their Indirect Provider will assist them with. Advisor will continue to play its part, however, partners are encouraged to not rely purely on incentives as a means to profitability – but instead, to drive profitability through their value-added services businesses.
